Part-Time Retail and Print Associate at Anne & Arthur Fine Arts Supply Store
Are you passionate about art and love helping others find the tools they need to create? We’re looking for a friendly, reliable team member to join our small, independent fine art supply store in Historic Hillsborough, North Carolina.
Position: Part-Time Retail Associate
Hours: Flexible Part-time hours, up to 20 hours a week, Some weekend shifts.
Pay: $15.50 during 90 day probationary with increase up to $17.50 pending review. Yearly increases.

About the Role
As a keyholder, you’ll help open and/or close the shop and take responsibility for the register and daily sales, sometimes working solo and sometimes with another team member. You’ll assist customers, restock shelves, tidy displays, and bring your enthusiasm and knowledge of art materials to every shift, helping to guide customers in their purchases and recommending new products. You will also be responsible for incoming print and copy jobs, handling jobs as they come in and assisting customers with walk-in print needs. Some print training will be provided, but troubleshooting, excellent customer service and computer savvy skills are a must.
Requirements:
Eligible to work as a W2 Employee in the US. At least 18 years of age with reliable source of transportation.
Responsibilities
Retail
Open and/or close the store independently
Handle sales transactions and maintain register accuracy
Offer customer service with warmth and professionalism
Share product knowledge and make helpful recommendations
Restock, clean, and keep the store organized
Support small events or workshops, as needed
Process print and copy jobs, including finishing (trim/bind/laminate)
Layout and size digital files to customer specifications
Assist walk-in customers as needed
Who We’re Looking For
Commitment through January 2026 or longer. This position has room to grow!
Someone with a background in the visual arts (or strong interest and knowledge)
Friendly, reliable, and self-directed
Outgoing, ability to assist a wide range of customer age and experience
Strong modern computer and technology skills/interest. Experience with Adobe Indesign a plus!
Current use and understanding of social media platforms a plus (in order of importance: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
Comfortable handling money and following procedures
Retail or customer service experience preferred
Office-quality copy/print experience a plus (more than home printers)
Basic computer print operations understanding required
Attention to detail
Available for part-time hours, including at least one weekend day
