Create a Hillsborough postcard using blank, event-provided watercolor postcards
July 23: “MESS IT UP”
Expect unconventional prompts, experimental materials, and permission to make a mess
August 20: “LIMITED PALETTE, BIG IMPACT
Make-and-take session challenges you to create a finished piece using a tightly limited palette
September 17: “CINEMATIC POSES *COSTUMED MODEL SESSION*”
Costumed models strike cinematic poses while artists focus on gesture, tension, and storytelling
May 21: “Costume Life Drawing: Fabric, Flow & Form”
Live costumed model posing for a night dedicated to fabric, folds, and movement. This session emphasizes capturing drapery, texture, and the relationship between clothing and the body. Ideal for artists who want to level up their figure work and leave with a strong, expressive study.
MARCH 19: COLLAGE NIGHT *WITH GUEST HOST KATHERINE WHALEN*
Explore some cut-and-paste creativity with multi-faceted guest host Katherine Whalen. Spending her time split between bands Jazz Squad and Certain Seas, her creative fire cannot be contained into one medium. Katherine has been making capturing collages using found materials, old magazines and photocopies, sometimes mixing her painting outlets and collage work with amazing outcomes. Join us and be inspired by the fun act of collage.
FEBRUARY 19: CHARACTER STUDIES - LIVE MODEL SESSION
Draw from life with live models dressed in their own imaginative costumes. This semi-structured session focuses on gesture, personality, and storytelling through the figure. Expect dynamic poses, expressive details, and plenty of inspiration—whether you’re into illustration, character design, or just love drawing people.
Expect a real skallywag of a model for this session!
January 15: one drawing, start to finish
Start the year by slowing down and actually finishing something. This structured Drink ’n’ Draw focuses on process—taking one idea from loose sketch to resolved drawing in a supportive, low-pressure setting. Perfect for shaking off creative rust, practicing follow-through, and leaving with a piece that shows growth from start to finish.
November—“Harvest Hues & Warm Brews”
Draw the season’s warmth: one sip, one stroke at a time.
Draw a still life of seasonal objects, bring something autumnal to share or inspire — like a photo, a snack, or a favorite fall beverage recommendation.
October—“Brews & Muses”
The brewery is your still life. Go wild.
Draw the bartender, the tap wall, a flight of beers, or your neighbor mid-sketch.
September—“Art Swap Happy Hour”
Leave with a sketch, a story, and someone else’s masterpiece.
Contribute a small drawing to the swap wall and pick one to take home.
August—“Community Cards”
Pick a card, any card!
Choose from a bowl and draw your playing card. Let’s do all 52!
July—“Tools of the Trade”
Ever tried someone else’s favorite pen? Tonight’s your chance.
Bring a favorite tool to share or swap, and try something new. Erin will Show & Tell some great drawing tools!
June—“Drawn Together”
Art is better with beer and friends!
Bring a friend or make one there — draw inspiration from conversation.
